We need Scotland’s nature. Now nature needs us.
Tell Scotland’s Minister for Environment Màiri McAllan why Scotland’s nature matters to you
Scotland’s nature gives us so much - from our urban parks and waterways to our open landscapes, glens and sea lochs. It is central to our health and wellbeing and provides us with clean air and water, and the natural resources that support jobs.
But our nature is struggling. Almost half of Scotland’s species have decreased in number since 1970, and one in nine species is at risk of extinction.
We can change this. Nature has an amazing capacity for recovery. Together, we can help Scotland’s unique wildlife recover and thrive.
We need the Scottish government to set legally binding targets for nature recovery, to restore natural habitats and reverse the decline in Scotland’s nature on land and at sea.
Tell Scotland’s new Minister for Environment, Biodiversity and Land Reform Màiri McAllan why Scotland’s nature matters to you. Anything goes - a personal memory, an experience, or a fact about why nature is important. Keep it short!
